CahillNet Educational Portfolio

The demos we have provided are brief excerpts of completed courses developed for clients. Every effort has been made to remove all proprietary or confidential information. As we are not showing these via an LMS, quizzes are not displayed in these examples.
Notice the left and right arrows on the side of the portfolio. These allow you to navigate to each demo page. Once on the page, there is a brief description of the project along with a Launch Project button. Click on the button or the image to have the content open in a separate tab in your browser. When you have finished viewing, simply close the tab and return to the site.

AI in L&D

AI is already having an effect in the learning and development field. Watch how we are using AI today to assist clients in building engaging, relevant, and effective user training.
Reach a broader audience by delivering content in multiple languages. Engage users with talking avatars - even your own personnel! Easily produce voice overs with natural speaking speech in a variety of dialects.

Hospital - Infor ERP

One of the many hospitals I have had the opportunity to work with was in the process of converting their current ERP system to Infor.
This project was developed in Adobe Captivate® and the character is from the Adobe library. Characters help to personalize the course. In this example, the character is a nurse, as many clinicians will be taking this course and she is acting as the course navigator.

Hospital -Electronic Health Records (EHR)

Since 2005, I have had the opportunity to provide educational services to 14 hospital organizations, primarily in the training of Electronic Health Records (EHR).

Due to the proprietary nature of EHR applications, I have removed all references to the software manufacturer and to the client healthcare organization. The content is not actual patient data and is strictly for training purposes.

This example shows how I approach developing online training. Once the user has the basic principles down, they are encouraged to go through a simulated process where they would input the data just as they would in a live environment. This helps to ensure user retention.

Finance

This example was created for a client in the Payment Services industry. All references to the client have been removed.
I have only included a single module in a multi-module course that was part of a multi-course offering. This course used layers and triggers to show various content and mark the sections as completed.
This course had detailed references and a glossary that were part of the course player. Those too have been removed as they contained proprietary links and information.

Trust

Not all of the training development I do is application based. This is an example of a corporate training program on Trust for the client's sales personnel.
This course used stock images. The subtle zoom and fade effects were utilized to keep the user paying attention.

Business - Trust
Oracle Video Demo

This is an example of an Oracle demonstration without audio. Users are provided instructions on screen for the process of creating a new business.
This video was embedded in a Help System (created in Adobe RoboHelp®) and accessed when the user clicked 'Show Me'. There was also a 'Try It' option for processes that were more complex and allowed the user to simulate the process by clicking buttons and input text where required. The course content was created in Adobe Captivate®.
The Help System was a single source of truth meaning that all users were getting the exact same information for how to complete these business processes and updates were immediate.

Oracle Simulation

This is an example of an Oracle simulation. Users are required to perform the steps as they would in a live environment. This helps to ensure user retention.
This simulation was embedded in a Help System (created in Adobe RoboHelp®) and accessed when the user clicked 'Try It'. There was also a 'Show Me' option that allowed users to watch the process in a video. The course content was created in Adobe Captivate®.

Oracle Dashboard
Oracle Dashboard Demo

The client needed a way to show a description of each field. The software didn't provide an 'in-app' method. I accomplished this by creating a roll-over button that when clicked would provide a more detailed description. This example was created in Articulate Storyline®.
This was embedded in an online Help system that all client employees were able to access. It could also be a stand-alone app.

Artificial Intelligence

This course was an Introduction to Artificial Intelligence and was part of a series on Data and AI. This is just a few slides of a much larger course and showcases different ways to incorporate interactivity for the user.

This was originally a Microsoft PowerPoint®presentation that was converted to Articulate Storyline® for web delivery.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Cognitive Bias

This course was developed for a Risk organization and teaches how to recognize Cognitive Bias in business.
This is just a few slides from Unit 1 of a 5 Unit course. You'll see that one of the ways we interactive with the user is to ask them to input information such as Name, Company Name etc. In the live course, this info is stored in the LMS and can be retrieved to issue certificate of completion, etc.
This was a Microsoft PowerPoint® deck for an in-person course that was converted to Articulate Storyline® for web delivery.

Workflow Diagramming

Workflow diagrams can be used to illustrate pre and post processes prior to an implementation. It's a good visual for clients to sign off on complex processes and can be used for change management.
This example was created in Microsoft Visio® for a hospital implementation of Electronic Health Records (EHR).

Project Management

Having a project plan is crucial to any project and learning and development projects are no exception. Being able to track metrics enables organizations to have a positive return on investment.
This is an example of a training plan that I developed in Microsoft Project®. I have developed plans that track resources, scheduling, tasks, milestones, and budgets. Reports can then be produced to show projected vs actual costs, resource allocation, etc. Management can review reports and determine if the project was on budget and more importantly if it was successful.

2D Character Intro
2D Character Introduction

Nothing is worse than listening to someone talk while you're left to stare at a stagnant screen. In order to keep a user's attention, you want things to be happening on screen. This can be accomplished by animation and in this example, using a 2D character to introduce the course objectives.

The character animation was developed in a 3D modeling application and then composited in Adobe After Effects®. The file was saved as an MP4 file which was then embedded in the Articulate Storyline® course file.

Character Intro 2

This is another example of characters introducing course objectives. Notice the female character actually speaks. In this example, we let the audience read the objectives, while the character changes the poster boards.

We develop characters in two distinct styles. This one, which is cartoon style characters and photo realistic characters which you have seen in other demos. Both styles have uses in adult learning, web delivery, and for presentations.
